Water service restored to southeast rural Strathcona County

The Highway 14 Regional Water Commission water main repair is complete, and service has been restored to residents in the area. Effective immediately, the water ban for Collingwood Cove and Antler Lake is lifted.

“We appreciate the quick response of Highway 14 Regional Water Services Commission crews on their water main repair,” said Tammy Lockhart, Manager of Water and Wastewater.

It is recommended that residents flush their service lines after the water is restored, this will ensure adequate water quality before returning to normal water use.

A water main repair required a shutdown of the water feed into southeast rural Strathcona County, as well as a water ban for Antler Lake and Collingwood Cove hamlets.

Water bans and water restrictions occur for various reasons. Sometimes they are planned and allow for advance notification to residents. At other times, such as this week, water bans and restrictions are unexpected. For this reason, residents are encouraged to sign up for Strathcona County Alerts (SC Alerts) for notification on water bans and restrictions via strathcona.ca/scalerts.
