Under the Safety Codes Act of Alberta, every fire that results in a dollar loss must be investigated as to the origin, cause and circumstances. Emergency Services has fire investigators on call 24 hours a day. The investigator is there for your protection and can provide valuable advice and assistance.

Fire investigation report

To obtain a copy of a fire investigator's report, email your request to and include the date, address and file number of the fire along with your contact information. If you are not the owner or occupant of the property where the fire occured, you will be required to provide signed consent from the legal land owner giving Strathcona County permission to release the information to you. A fee will apply according to fees, rates and charges schedule.
