Strathcona County is committed to supporting non-profits in our community to build strong, effective boards. Through FREE workshops, non-profit board members gain skills and tools needed to achieve their organizational goals.
These workshops are designed to be attended by multiple board members from organizations based in Strathcona County that directly benefit residents.

Alberta Board Member Essentials workshops
Designed to support the growth of new and experienced board members, the Alberta Board Member Essentials (ABME) program is a multi-part training program that combines online learning with live workshops to equip board members with the tools to serve on a non-profit board successfully.
Strathcona County provides a limited number of ABME scholarships. Qualifying individuals must:
Complete all three on-demand online courses before live workshops.
Attend all three live workshops.
Email familyandcommunity@strathcona.ca or call 780-464-4044 to receive your scholarship for ABME.

One-on-one board support
ECVO offers one-on-one board advice and support tailored to an organization's governance needs, with up to 10 hours available per approved engagement. Eligibility requirements apply. Call Family and Community Services at 780-464-4044 to learn more.
Strathcona County's non-profit board member workshops are a collaboration between Strathcona County and the Edmonton Chamber of Voluntary Organizations.
