Arc

Arc is the new electronic payment card system used in the region for transit riders.

Arc is currently available for adult, youth and student riders. Senior and Subsidy users will launch at a later date.

Youth and Student riders can pick up a free Arc card from a Transit Terminal beginning September 25, and start paying towards a monthly fare cap on October 1, 2023

To learn more about Arc, or if you have questions or concerns, visit myarc.ca or call the Arc call centre at 780-1-888-302-0001.

With an Arc card users have monthly fare caps. With caps users won't pay more than a maximum each month for either commuter or local service based on their profile type. We suggest keeping at least a $4 balance in your Arc purse to avoid seeing either a low balance warning (yellow) or a deny travel warning (red) near the end of each month.

Youth and Student monthly caps are only available for riders that register their Arc cards. To register and apply for a concession profile, visit an in-person service centre or go on-line to myArc.ca.

Children 12 years of age and under ride free when accompanied by a fare paying passenger.

SC Transit adult paper tickets (commuter and local) must be used by December 31, 2023. Unused tickets will not be refunded or exchanged and are no longer valid effective January 1, 2024.

SC Transit Youth Commuter and Youth Local monthly paper passes will no longer be available for purchase effective October 18, 2023 as all riders will be transitioned to Arc.

SC Transit Youth/Senior Commuter and Youth/Senior Local paper tickets will continue to be available until after Senior's have transitioned to Arc.

Transfers

Sometimes your trip may require a transfer between different buses or services (LRT). Strathcona County Transit works with our regional partners in Edmonton and St. Albert to help you reach your destination.

Your transfer fee will depend on the type of paper pass or ticket you are using and where you are traveling. Your transfer fee is paid in cash to the operator once you board the transferring bus. Please use the charts below to determine your transfer fee, and remember to request a paper transfer as your proof of payment. If using an Arc card, the transfer fee is deducted directly from the Arc purse and determined by the transfer rules between agencies. If using an Arc ticket, transferability is based on the validity of the product loaded.
