Strathcona County residents are invited to apply for two types of Social Framework Community Grants to support local connections or projects that foster positive changes in the community. Applications are open until May 1, 2023.

As a member of the Alberta Mid-Sized Cities Mayors’ caucus, Strathcona County supports the call to provincial party leaders to commit to developing a framework that ensures Alberta’s mid-sized cities can build a meaningful, working partnership with the provincial government that will support the needs of all Albertans. Each year, Strathcona County supports local talent by purchasing artwork through its Annual Art Acquisition program and Salon Exhibition. Local artists, and those with a significant connection to Strathcona County, are encouraged to submit their artwork for consideration. The application deadline is April 17. 

Council has approved the Community Standards Bylaw, establishing clear standards of presentation and accountability within Strathcona County.

Strathcona County is pleased to present two exciting new exhibitions focused on landscapes and our connection to the land.

Job seekers and local and regional businesses are invited to connect at the Spring Job Fair in Sherwood Park on Thursday, March 16.

Dog owners are reminded to register or renew their annual dog licence by March 31, 2023. All dogs residing in Strathcona County are required to have a valid dog licence, renewable each year.
