Culture Days is a national celebration of arts, culture and creative expression. In Alberta, the festivities run throughout September, with the national spotlight shining over a three-week period each fall.

Across Canada, thousands of free events invite millions of people to explore, create and connect through culture. Join the celebration in Strathcona County – discover something new, try a hands-on activity, or reconnect with your creative side. All events are free and open to everyone!

  • Public art tour - September 12

    Registration is required through RecOnline, opening August 20.

    Discover the stories behind the Community Centre’s public art collection during this free Culture Days tour. Explore landmark works by celebrated artists, including a vibrant mural by Alex Janvier, stunning glass installations by Manola Borrajo-Giner, a dynamic lenticular piece by Chelsea Boida and Mark Feddes, and an outdoor steel sculpture by Catherine Burgess, Walter Jule, and Royden Mills.  You'll also see a brand-new mural by Dene artist Bruno Canadien and learn how these works help shape the community’s identity and spaces.  Extend your experience with the Festival Place Theatre Tour, just a short walk away along the Prairie Walk.

  • Savour Strathcona - September 13

    Get ready to savour the best of Strathcona County with Savour — a much-loved community celebration of local food, art, and music. 

    • Sunday, September 13 - 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. 

    Explore culinary creations from local restaurants, food trucks, brewers, and distillers. Take in the visual talent of local artists showcased by Gallery@501. Soak up the sounds of homegrown musicians performing throughout the event.

    No registration or ticket required.

"Family Traditions" by Roberta Memogana and Emily Mosley-Delorme

Strathcona County is pleased to present Family Traditions, featuring Inuit stencil printmaker Roberta (Apun) Sukayaluk Memogana and third-generation watercolour artist Emily Mosley-Delorme.

Austin McConnell uses analog photography to explore memory, emotion, and perception. Inspired by his father, an artist himself, Austin discovered photography as a way to preserve moments in time while expressing his unique connection to the world.
