Survey says: safe, connected and a great place to live

Drumroll please! The results are in... Strathcona County has been declared a phenomenal place to live, work, and play! The 2022 Public Satisfaction Survey results demonstrate an overwhelmingly positive response from residents; it's clear that Strathcona County is a safe, connected and great place to live.

According to the survey, 92 per cent of residents consider Strathcona County a safe haven, while an astounding 93 per cent believe it's a great place to raise children. In fact, 93 per cent of residents are incredibly content with where they live overall. With such high marks across the board, it's no wonder the community is thriving.

Even more impressive is the fact that 80 per cent of residents are satisfied with the existing infrastructure in the county. This means that everything from the roads to the parks and facilities are in excellent condition, making for an even more enjoyable experience. But wait, there's more! 71 per cent of residents also rate Strathcona County as a highly welcoming community, which is a testament to the friendly atmosphere that permeates the area.

The survey was conducted both by an independent market research company who helped reach over 500 randomly selected participants via telephone and was available on the County’s website. Over 1400 responses were received in total.

“The positive insights from our residents are an indicator the County is headed in the right direction,” says Mayor Rod Frank. “From our neighbourly connections to quality roads, parks and facilities, satisfaction is impressively high. We still have work to do in certain areas but overall, people recognize and appreciate the superior services and great atmosphere in the County.”

Relating to quality of life in Strathcona County, many commented on the County’s size and the benefits of being able to live in a large urban centre with a small-town feel, as well as the positives in living on rural acreages and farms.
