Edmonton Strathcona County Footbridge

The City of Edmonton, Strathcona County and the River Valley Alliance (RVA) have finalized funding to realize their shared vision for a new footbridge over the North Saskatchewan River, which is scheduled to begin construction late summer/early fall 2022. 

The City of Edmonton, Strathcona County and the River Valley Alliance (RVA) are partners in funding the planning and design and construction of a new footbridge over the North Saskatchewan River. This footbridge will link Strathcona County to the City of Edmonton and connect to the trail systems within the North Saskatchewan River Valley. The Great Trail of Canada (Trans-Canada Trail) will connect to this pedestrian bridge through the local tail systems. 

Information release  - April 27, 2022 announcing funding approval. 

The footbridge would be located near the riverside nature trail.
