Have a hoot with Strathcona County bird watching kits
January 7, 2022
In partnership with Trans Mountain, free bird watching kits are available to borrow at several Strathcona County facilities starting in January 2022 and include all the equipment necessary to try your hand at bird watching.
Residents are encouraged to adventure around Strathcona County parks and trails, witness wildlife and learn about the various bird species that inhabit the local ecosystem.Â
Kits can be pecked up from the Strathcona County Library for one week, with an additional week extension available upon request. The Strathcona Wilderness Centre and Kinsmen Leisure Centre offer day-use kits, with a limit of one kit per family.Â
The kits include:Â
- BackpackÂ
- BinocularsÂ
- Audubon bird callerÂ
- Field Guide to Alberta BirdsÂ
- Pocket naturalist guideÂ
- Various additional resources to help you have the best possible bird watching experience Â
Residents can flock to strathcona.ca/BirdWatchingKit for more details, photos and facility contact information.
The free bird watching kits are proudly sponsored by Trans Mountain.Â
