Join the conversation for the final phase of the Strathcona County Open Space Master Plan

Over the past year, Strathcona County has developed the draft Open Space Master Plan (OSMP) based on feedback from residents and community groups. With the OSMP project entering its final phase, the County is asking residents to share their thoughts on draft components.

The OSMP is an important component of Strathcona County’s development to ensure the County continues to provide a welcoming place to live with the right mix of future open spaces, programming and amenities.

“We are looking forward to finalizing the plan. Residents have shared valuable feedback up to this point which has helped shape the draft components.” says Leslee Laing, Senior Advisor, Open Space Planning.

There are four ways to participate in the final phase of the project from June 9 to 29:

  1. Explore the StoryMap to learn about six components of the plan: vision and pillars, supply, locations, connectivity, function and design.
  2. Drop by an engagement station in the community:
    • Ardrossan Recreation Complex
    • Festival Place
    • Glen Allan Recreation Complex
    • Millennium Place
    • Strathcona County Library
  3. Attend the online public meeting on Wednesday, June 18 from 6 to 8 p.m.
  4. Share your thoughts through the online comment form

Feedback gathered during this phase will help to finalize the OSMP, which will be brought forward to Council before December 31, 2025.
