Strathcona County to unveil Veterans Memorial Park

Strathcona County is pleased to announce the official unveiling of Veterans Memorial Park, a new community space dedicated to honouring all veterans.

Veterans Memorial Park has been designed as a place of reflection and remembrance, while also serving as a welcoming community gathering space. The park recognizes all veterans from Strathcona County as a shared symbol of gratitude and respect for those who have served.

“This park is a lasting expression of our community’s appreciation,” said Mayor Rod Frank. “It honours the courage and commitment of our veterans and creates a space where current and future generations can gather, remember and reflect.”

The location of the park and proximity to nearby amenities make it a welcoming space for people to visit, connect, and reflect.

The park will offer future opportunities for individuals and families to make personal tributes through the Parkland Memorial Program. Options will include park benches and tree plantings, dedicated to specific individuals.

Community members are invited to join in the celebration of the unveiling on:

Time:           2 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. (formal program starts at 2 p.m.)

Location:    Veterans Memorial Park - near 5200 Clover Bar Road

(accessible by trail from Clover Bar Road, Eton Boulevard, Aspen Trail and Edgar Lane)

Community members are invited to admire the park and commemorate its significance to Strathcona County.
