Businesses asked to share feedback on waste

Strathcona County is looking for feedback as we explore waste diversion in the commercial sector.

During engagement for Strathcona County’s Waste Management Roadmap, we heard from businesses that they have different waste management needs and challenges than residential properties.

“Waste generated by businesses and institutions makes up almost half of what is generated in the County,” says Manager of Waste Services Leah Seabrook. “We are looking for feedback to influence the development of future waste diversion strategies, incentives and regulatory requirements for waste programs in the commercial sector.”

Business owners are invited to share their thoughts on current waste practices and the future of waste management in the commercial sector by attending an engagement session between January 15 to 23.

Engagement sessions:

  • Wednesday, January 15, 2025

9:30 – 11:30 a.m., Community Centre, CC-Meeting Room 2

  • Thursday, January 16, 2025

6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Roasti Coffee Co.

  • Wednesday, January 22, 2025

6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Community Centre, CC-Meeting Room 2

  • Thursday, January 23, 2025
