Savour event celebrates and supports local independent restaurants, artists and musicians

Residents in and around the community of Sherwood Park are invited to enjoy Savour Strathcona County on Sunday, September 8, 2024, at the Strathcona County Community Centre in Sherwood Park, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. This one-day, family-friendly event features local independent artists, restauranteurs, food trucks, distillers and live music!

Independent restaurants and artists often face challenges in promoting themselves and connecting with the community due to limited resources. Savour Strathcona County provides them with a platform to showcase their talents and achieve greater success within our community.

“Savour is a unique opportunity to highlight the best of what Sherwood Park has for locals and visitors alike,” says Alana Seymour, Business Retention and Expansion Officer with Strathcona County Economic Development and Tourism. “Having all of this talent in one location makes it conveniently accessible for all to enjoy and support your artisanal neighbours!”

The event is managed by Strathcona County Economic Development and Tourism and Gallery@501. The Kid’s Zone is supported by the Strathcona County Museum and Archives.

Admission is free to all, but there are costs for art and food purchases. An ATM is available on-site, and vendors accept tap payments, though cash is preferred.

Gallery@501 will also be open featuring the Translations of Han and Sacred Patterns exhibit.

Parking is available at the Community Centre at 2001 Sherwood Drive and the surrounding neighbourhood.
