Money Matters 2025: Shaping the future of our community

Strathcona County Council is beginning to plan for Budget 2025 and wants to hear from residents about what matters most.

“Residents play a crucial role in guiding Council’s decisions about the budget,” says Mayor Rod Frank. “Council is mindful of the financial pressures felt by residents.  We really want their input so we can ensure resources are directed towards initiatives that will benefit current and future generations. Municipal excellence built on financial sustainability is a key goal for our County.”

The survey, available between April 29 and May 24, will be conducted by an independent market research company via telephone, as well as the survey being available on the County’s website.

Residents are invited to complete the online survey along with other engagement activities at strathcona.ca/CountyVoice.

Insights gathered from the survey and other online tools will be shared with the community in July. New this year, residents will have another opportunity in the fall to provide input to ensure that their voices are heard.  Finally, a public hearing is scheduled for November 21, where residents can provide their feedback directly to Council.

Throughout the budget process, residents are invited to participate in a variety of online activities to help explain the budget process, inform residents about how they can influence where tax dollars are spent and provide key insights from the public to Council to help inform their decisions.
