October 4, 2024

Strathcona County is proud to announce that Bartlett Group, a leader in industrial services and custom metal fabrication, has selected Sherwood Park, located within Strathcona County, for their new Canadian headquarters and manufacturing facility. This significant investment underscores Strathcona County’s position as a prime destination for innovative manufacturing, industrial growth and diversification.
Bartlett Group’s new facility will create up to 100 permanent jobs and 25 temporary construction jobs, with completion expected by late 2024. This expansion will not only provide sustainable employment opportunities, but also contribute to the local economy and community development.
“We are excited to welcome Bartlett Group to Alberta’s Industrial Heartland,” shares Mayor Rod Frank. “This investment further enhances the momentum of economic growth in our region by generating jobs and strengthening our local economy. Strathcona County appreciates the Government of Alberta and Invest Alberta for their partnership in this project and for recognizing the importance that the Industrial Heartland has on our provincial and federal economy.”
Strathcona County’s robust industrial infrastructure and strategic location within a key transportation corridor were pivotal in Bartlett Group’s decision. Our community offers unparalleled access to multiple service points across the province and country, making it an ideal hub for manufacturing and distribution.
The County has been actively involved in supporting Bartlett Group through the regulatory process, connecting them with local industrial networks and facilitating partnerships with key audiences. This collaborative effort ensures that Bartlett Group will have the resources and support needed to thrive and grow in our community.
We look forward to the positive impact this investment will have on Strathcona County, including the development of programs aimed at skills diversification for local talent. Bartlett Group’s presence will further strengthen our industrial sector and enhance our reputation as a centre for manufacturing excellence.
Rick Christiaanse, CEO of Invest Alberta stated, “Bartlett’s investment is a major win for Strathcona County creating more than 100 new jobs and positioning the area as a Canadian manufacturing hub. A Team Alberta approach among Alberta’s business-friendly agencies was key to Bartlett’s final decision, with Invest Alberta and the province helping the company bring their vision to life.”
Strathcona County remains committed to fostering a business-friendly environment that attracts and supports innovative companies like Bartlett Group. We are excited about the opportunities this investment brings and are confident in the continued growth and success of our community.
