New online service option for municipal bylaw tickets

A new online payment option is now available for County-issued bylaw tickets. Launching October 21, the website provides a secure, quick and easy way to pay municipal bylaw fines including dog, noise, parking, Community Standards Bylaw infractions, and more.

“It may seem like a small change, but the online payment option has a big impact on resident satisfaction and processing times,” says Inspector Vito Disciglio, Manager of Strathcona County Enforcement Services. "We are pleased to provide additional services so residents can choose what works best for them, whether it’s paying online at any time or stopping by the local detachment during business hours.”

To pay online, residents can simply scan the QR code located at the bottom of their ticket which will direct residents to the secure payment website. The ticket number and surname or fine total is required for each payment. An 8.45 per cent convenience and processing fee will be applied by the vendor at the time of transaction. Percentage-based fees offer a more affordable option for smaller fines such as parking tickets instead of a flat service fee, which can add a significant extra cost.

Front counter services remain available for all residents who need or choose in-person services. Processing and convenience fees are not applied when paying for bylaw fines in-person. The detachment is open Monday to Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. and is located at 911 Bison Way.
