Parent and caregiver survey aims to enhance support and resources in Strathcona County

Beginning Thursday, June 15, Strathcona County’s Family Resource Network (FRN) is asking parents and caregivers of children from newborn to 18 years old to complete a short online survey. Feedback from the survey will be used to help shape the resources and support provided by the Family Resource Network to parents and caregivers in the County.

The Family Resource Network is a provincially funded initiative for families with children and youth, aged 0-18. The FRN provides free programs and services to support healthy child development, offers reliable parenting information and connects families to other local resources. The FRN is managed through Strathcona County, Family and Community Services. Many of the programs offered through FRN, like drop-in parent and baby groups, used to be offered through the previous provincial program, Parent Link.

"A lot has changed in Strathcona County over the past three years. By better understanding the unique needs of parents and caregivers in our community, we can further enhance the resources and support services we provide," says Gina Somerville, Family Resource Network Manager.

Parents and caregivers can visit CountyVoice.strathcona.ca/FRN to complete the survey until Thursday, July 13. In addition to the online survey, Family Resource Network staff will be providing opportunities for residents to complete the survey in person, at various locations throughout Strathcona County during the summer.
