Strathcona County Emergency Services respond to fire at Sherwood Centre Strip Mall
April 24, 2021

On April 24 at 12:31 a.m., SCES responded to reports of a fire in the Sherwood Centre strip mall. As of 6:13 a.m. the fire was considered under control. Crews continue to work on hot spots. No injuries have been reported and the cause is under investigation.
Several businesses along the north side of the strip mall have been destroyed. Shoppers Drug Mart has some smoke and water damage and will be closed today. Shoppers Drug Mart will be contacting anyone that had a vaccine booked today to reschedule. Other businesses in the area may open.
Traffic along Fir Street may be delayed while crews work throughout the day.
Emergency Services is asking that residents avoid the area if possible and take extra care when shopping at the other businesses in the strip mall.
