Community invited to share feedback about off-leash dog parks

Strathcona County is inviting both dog owners and non-dog owners to share feedback about off-leash dog parks in the community. An online survey is available beginning today until midnight on March 28, 2021.

The County’s approach considers the needs and responsibilities of dog owners, while also seeking input from non-dog owners. The survey feedback will support Council’s motion on February 23, 2021 that directed administration to prepare a report this spring on potential sites for neighbourhood off-leash dog parks in Strathcona County.

Currently, there are 11 dog off-leash areas (permanent and seasonal sites) throughout Strathcona County. For more information on current off-leash dog locations, visit strathcona.ca/dogparks.

Dog off-leash areas have been identified as one of the top five outdoor amenities prioritized in the Recreation and Culture Strategy Implementation Plan. For more information about the Recreation and Culture Strategy Implementation Plan, visit strathcona.ca/recreationculture.

Complete the short survey, available from March 19 to 28, 2021. Surveys may also be accessed by calling Recreation, Parks and Culture at 780-400-2015.
