Strathcona County artists are invited to participate in the annual call for submissions for Strathcona County’s Art Collection.

Artists (high school students and older) are encouraged to submit their work to be juried by an independent panel of artists and arts professionals. The jurors examine and select artwork based on authenticity and originality, quality of materials, presentation, aesthetic quality, technical experience, craftsmanship, and overall success and effect.

Parents, caregivers and teachers are invited to a free workshop on March 30 to learn how to encourage children’s physical well-being. The Physical Literacy and You (PLAY) Workshop, hosted by Strathcona County, will explore how positive physical activity benefits children in multiple aspects of their lives.

An early-stage concept design of the multi-purpose agricultural facility and its site was shared on Tuesday, March 12 at Strathcona County Priorities Committee. The design draft includes basic elements which will be further developed during schematic design.

Strathcona County has initiated a Community Traffic Safety Review for Heritage Hills to address vehicle speed and pedestrian safety in the neighbourhood. Residents are invited to provide feedback on traffic and safety concerns at a workshop on March 21.

The Gallery@501 is pleased to present I Like to Believe I am Telling the Truth, by Chris Saruk Reid. The exhibit opens on March 15 and is on display until April 28, 2019.

Strathcona County presented its 2019-2022 Corporate Business Plan at today’s Priorities Committee Meeting. The plan sets direction for the county over four years, demonstrating the linkages between programs and initiatives, and long-term strategic goals and results.  

A new and second underground parkade in Centre in the Park will open to the public on Monday, March 4 — the Centre in the Park Parkade, located at 45 Festival Way in Sherwood Park.
