Local artists invited to submit work to Strathcona County’s Art Collection

Strathcona County artists are invited to participate in the annual call for submissions for Strathcona County’s Art Collection.

Artists (high school students and older) are encouraged to submit their work to be juried by an independent panel of artists and arts professionals. The jurors examine and select artwork based on authenticity and originality, quality of materials, presentation, aesthetic quality, technical experience, craftsmanship, and overall success and effect.

Free workshop promotes physical well-being for kids

Parents, caregivers and teachers are invited to a free workshop on March 30 to learn how to encourage children’s physical well-being. The Physical Literacy and You (PLAY) Workshop, hosted by Strathcona County, will explore how positive physical activity benefits children in multiple aspects of their lives.

Agricultural facility and site planning moves ahead

An early-stage concept design of the multi-purpose agricultural facility and its site was shared on Tuesday, March 12 at Strathcona County Priorities Committee. The design draft includes basic elements which will be further developed during schematic design.

Traffic safety review initiated for Heritage Hills

Strathcona County has initiated a Community Traffic Safety Review for Heritage Hills to address vehicle speed and pedestrian safety in the neighbourhood. Residents are invited to provide feedback on traffic and safety concerns at a workshop on March 21.
