Strathcona County residents will enjoy more natural beauty at Broadmoor Lake Park, thanks to a partnership with Shell Canada and Tree Canada.

Ward 1 Councillor candidate, FRASER Janine, has filed a withdrawal of nomination.  The Returning Officer has accepted the withdrawal.

Based on public input, Council has approved an amendment to the Land Use Bylaw 6-2015 at its September 12 meeting to move Agriculture, Intensive Horticulture from a permitted use to discretionary.

Strathcona County has joined a network of 72 Canadian municipalities committed to taking action to combat racism and discrimination.

The water ban in Strathcona County has been lifted effective immediately. Water reservoir levels have returned to normal. Truck fills are now open.

The following is an update to Strathcona County’s water ban.

Strathcona County continues to ban all non-essential water use over the weekend. An update will be provided on Monday, September 11.

Strathcona County is banning all non-essential water use effective immediately. The ban applies to residents in Sherwood Park, Ardrossan, Josephburg, Half Moon Lake, Collingwood Cove, Antler Lake and Fultonvale. Residents are being advised to use water for essential purposes only.

Nomination Day for the Strathcona County 2017 General Municipal Election is Monday, September 18. Anyone running for Mayor or Councillor must officially file nomination papers on this date, between 9 a.m. and 12 noon.

Strathcona County has a new Municipal Development Plan after Council gave Bylaw 20-2017 third and final reading.

Nearly 2,000 residents provided input into the County’s new Responsible Dog Ownership Bylaw (37-2017), approved by Council on September 5, 2017.
