2025 Agrifood Connector – Expanding Alberta’s Food Industry

October 1, 2025

2025 Agrifood Connector – Expanding Alberta’s Food Industry community centre

Strathcona County, in collaboration with Connect for Food (CFF), will host the 2025 Agrifood Connector on Monday, November 3, at Festival Place in Sherwood Park. This one-day event will bring together key players from across Alberta’s agrifood value chain, including growers, processors, food service providers, brokers, and retailers — to spark collaboration and innovation in the sector.

The event is part of CFF’s mission to strengthen Alberta’s food system by encouraging local production and consumption, through the message of “Grow what we eat. Eat what we grow.” Co-founders Perry Phillips and Keleigh Cormier emphasize the urgency of building a more resilient, locally rooted agrifood sector in response to global economic pressures and supply chain vulnerabilities.

Highlights of the day include:

  • Keynote presentation: Small Potatoes, Big Realities by Sanford Gleddie, Executive VP of Sales, Marketing & Business Development at The Little Potato Company

  • CFF panel: Diverse perspectives on the opportunities and challenges facing Alberta’s agrifood industry

  • CFF exchange: Fast-paced roundtable sessions designed to spark meaningful business connections across the supply-demand spectrum

  • CFF showcase: Featuring businesses, institutions, and organizations invested in the future of agrifood

“This event is a key step in advancing Strathcona County’s Agriculture and Food Sector Development Strategy,” says Lori Morgan, Economic Development Officer. “It’s about fostering innovation, economic growth, and long-term sustainability in our local food economy.”

Locally sourced fare will be served, and attendees will have ample opportunities to network and collaborate.

Registration is only $20 and closes October 27. Space is limited, so early registration is encouraged.
