At a special Council meeting on September 1, 2021, Strathcona County Council approved the Temporary Mandatory Face Coverings Bylaw 53-2021 that requires the public to wear masks in all indoor public places and public vehicles including taxis, buses and rideshares. Due to the provincial mandatory masking announcement on September 3, Strathcona County is reviewing our bylaw for regional alignment and direction. Please follow all Provincial restrictions.

Strathcona County is joining parents, caregivers, teachers and school staff to help support students returning to school on September 1, 2021.

At its July 6, 2021 meeting, Council passed a new Transit Bylaw (25-2021) with updated provisions that meet current and future transit needs, including compatibility with the regional smart fare approach (Arc).

Today, Strathcona County Council approved three new key recommendations that will support the County’s ongoing commitment to enhance important Indigenous relationships, as part of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Calls to Action.

The water restriction in Strathcona County has been lifted, effective immediately. The water supply has  returned to normal.
