Strathcona County Council passed a motion on June 28 to increase the income thresholds for municipal subsidies, providing more residents with access to key services such as transit and recreation.

A brand-new spray deck is now open in McPherson Park, located at 400 Regency Drive, Sherwood Park.

On June 26, 2022, the On-Demand Transit pilot will launch in Sherwood Park. This new service will replace the current local hourly evening and weekend service. 

Children and youth will have greater access to spray park activities with a new all-terrain, accessible water wheelchair.

Strathcona County is inviting the public to the first in-person open house for the NEW regional park on Monday, June 20 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. The open house will be held in the Community Centre Agora, 401 Festival Lane, Sherwood Park.

Strathcona County’s largest annual festival returns in-person! This year’s Canada Day celebration at Broadmoor Lake Park (Oak Street, Sherwood Park) features indoor and outdoor activities for all ages, as well as live entertainment throughout the day.

Summer fun continues in Strathcona County with the introduction of a new pilot disc golf course in Sherwood Park, as well as the continuation of permitting responsible alcohol consumption at designated picnic sites.
