Wildfire Update

Strathcona County provides update on current out of control fireÂ
AÂ large grassfire is burning in the area of Township Road 534 and Range Road 220. Emergency crews are on scene but this fire is not yet contained.Â
This alert is for everyone in the area between south of Township Road 540 and north of Township Road 534; and east of Range Road 221 and west of Range Road 215. This includes Newton Estates.Â
Strathcona County is advising people to prepare to leave the area. Â

Prepare and gather all important documents, medication, valuables and an emergency kit with 72 hours of food and water for people and pets. Â

Bring pets inside (if it’s safe) until you are evacuating.Â

Turn off fans, furnaces, air conditioners and air exchange units.Â
