Milestone achieved for the 2026 Alberta Summer Games

The clock is officially ticking! Strathcona County is hosting the 25th Alberta Summer Games from July 16 – 19, 2026, and preparations are well underway at the one-year mark.

Strathcona County is proud to announce that Pembina Pipeline Corporation will be the Presenting Sponsor for the 2026 Alberta Summer Games! This sponsorship will help ensure that the County is well positioned to host an exceptional event.

“Pembina is thrilled to be the Presenting Sponsor for the 2026 Alberta Summer Games,” says Brendan Marin, Manager, mâmawi District, Pembina Pipeline Corporation.  “The Games provide an incredible opportunity to connect community, celebrate youth, and showcase the vibrant spirit of Strathcona County. We look forward to working alongside the County, volunteers, and local businesses to help create an unforgettable experience for athletes, spectators, and the community as a whole.”

It takes a robust team to carry out an event of this scale. The planning team is supported by a Board of Directors comprised of community volunteers and Youth Ambassadors selected from local athletes who have competed in past Games. Beyond the planning team, community support is a key component as the County, volunteers and local businesses work together to create an amazing event experience for the athletes, spectators and our community.

“This event means so much to the thousands of athletes who will be here, giving their best efforts to represent their community and their sport,” says John Dance, Board Chair of the Strathcona County 2026 Alberta Summer Games Society. “Our board and staff team are working hard to ensure that the 2026 Alberta Summer Games will be an unforgettable experience for athletes, spectators, volunteers and the entire community. We are committed to showcasing the best of Alberta and creating a legacy that will inspire future generations.”

Strathcona County first hosted the Alberta Summer Games in 1987. Nearly 40 years later, our community has another opportunity to showcase world-class facilities, a strong community spirit and a thriving tourism sector while inspiring athletes from across the province at the 2026 Alberta Summer Games.
