On April 1, 2025, the Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) program will go into effect in Strathcona County. As part of the program residents will see expanded recycling options, including plastic clamshell containers and plastic takeout containers, and receive a credit on their utility bills.

Strathcona County is proud to be a partner in the Alberta Zero-Emissions Fleet Fueling (AZEFF) project, a clean energy initiative funded through Emissions Reduction Alberta (ERA). This groundbreaking project supports Edmonton region municipalities to test new technology and explore hydrogen as a sustainable fuel source for heavy-duty municipal fleets.

One hundred per cent of admissions collected on Family Day will support the Everybody gets to playTM program in Strathcona County which helps families with limited income access recreation and culture services in our community.
