Strathcona County residents can apply now for Social Framework Community Grants to foster positive changes in our community. Applications are open until May 1, 2025.

Strathcona County invites anyone with a stake in the food industry to ‘come to the table’ and contribute to expanding Alberta’s agrifood sector, creating greater socio-economic benefits for the community.

On April 1, 2025, the Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) program will go into effect in Strathcona County. As part of the program residents will see expanded recycling options, including plastic clamshell containers and plastic takeout containers, and receive a credit on their utility bills.

Strathcona County is proud to be a partner in the Alberta Zero-Emissions Fleet Fueling (AZEFF) project, a clean energy initiative funded through Emissions Reduction Alberta (ERA). This groundbreaking project supports Edmonton region municipalities to test new technology and explore hydrogen as a sustainable fuel source for heavy-duty municipal fleets.

Enhancing road safety in Strathcona County: Peace Officers pilot Mandatory Alcohol Screening

After an extensive search, Mayor Rod Frank, on behalf of Strathcona County Council, is pleased to announce the appointment of Stacy Fedechko to the position of Chief Commissioner. Her position is effective March 3, 2025.

This Family Day, February 17, residents can make a difference in the lives of our community members by visiting Strathcona County recreation facilities. One hundred per cent of admissions collected on Family Day will support the Everybody gets to play^TM program in Strathcona County which helps families with limited income access recreation and culture services in our community.

Drivers are reminded that “reds flashing means no passing” as the number of school bus "fly-bys" in Strathcona County continues to grow.
