Strathcona County statement: Strathcona County is aware of an incident that happened the morning of May 8, 2026, and we know our community is concerned. There is currently no threat to our community's safety. The RCMP is leading the investigation and will share more information as they are able. Our community’s safety and well-being is our top priority, and we encourage anyone who may need support or want to talk to phone or text Alberta 2-1-1 for 24/7 mental health support.

Our team at Family and Community Services is also available on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 8:30 a.m. - 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. - 4:30 p.m., and Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:30 a.m. - 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. - 8 p.m. You can phone them at 780-464-4044 or drop by at 401 Festival Lane during business hours, no appointment needed. More information will be shared as it becomes available.
