Celebrate Canada Day in the heart of Strathcona County

Get ready for a full day of music, community spirit and fun on Wednesday, July 1! Strathcona County’s Canada Day Festival is held at Broadmoor Lake Park and promises excitement from morning to night. The day features a pancake breakfast, live performances, family-friendly activities, outdoor adventures and a spectacular fireworks finale.

The festivities begin at 9 a.m. with the RE/MAX Elite Pancake Breakfast and Stage Show in the Community Centre Agora (401 Festival Lane, Sherwood Park). From 10 a.m. onward, Broadmoor Lake Park will be buzzing with fun-filled activities and attractions for all ages. The day wraps up with a dazzling fireworks show, presented by Northern Lights Fiber, lighting up the evening sky at 11 p.m.

Festival fun for everyone
This year's Canada Day Festival features something for everyone, including:

  • Keyera Stage headliner: Hailey Benedict, CCMA Award Winning Country music singer-songwriter, 9:45 p.m.

  • Just Play area: Explore themed play zones with gardening, water fun, science activities, bubble zone, a Family Foam Party and more.

  • Field activities: Enjoy Dynamo Dogsports demos, bounce through inflatables, try your luck at carnival games, hop on a wagon ride or join a circus workshop.

  • Interactive stage shows: Featuring lively performances by Northern Empire Marching Band and Shito-Ryu Karate Demonstration.

  • Local talent on stage: Celebrate our community with performances by local artists, entertainers and demo groups.

  • All-ages attractions: Face painting, caricatures, craft zones, free swims, Cameron Corporation canoe rides – the list goes on! A variety of family-friendly experiences can be found across the festival grounds.

Tickets and wristbands
While most activities are free, some require individual tickets or an unlimited access wristband.

Wristbands are available for $5 from June 1 to June 30 at the following locations:

  • Sherwood Park Mall (information desk)

  • Recreation, Parks and Culture Administration Office

  • Ardrossan Recreation Complex

  • Festival Place

  • Glen Allan Recreation Complex

  • Kinsmen Leisure Centre

  • Millennium Place

Please note: wristbands will not be sold on July 1.

Getting there
Guests are encouraged to use the FREE transit express shuttle, running every 15 minutes from the Bethel Transit Terminal (650 Bethel Drive, Sherwood Park) directly to the front of Festival Place at Broadmoor Lake Park.
