Art creations drying on a clothes line

Learn, create, experiment and inspire!

Strathcona County offers visual art programs and activities at Gallery@501 and Smeltzer House Visual Arts Centre. Programs are open to everyone and include single classes or longer series taught by skilled and knowledgeable artists, makers and community educators.

Gallery@501 programs take place in a fully equipped art studio next to the main gallery exhibit space. Our classes encourage participants to experiment with new techniques and explore their creativity through different artistic mediums. Choose from painting, drawing, needle felting, printmaking and more!

Smeltzer House Visual Arts Centre offers beginner-friendly classes in many fine craft forms such as pottery at Clay Hut, glass fusing at Studio One, fibre arts, and more at Smeltzer House. Our specialized studios welcome students of all ages to enjoy the art of making.
