Strathcona County welcomes visitors to “Go Strathco” during National Tourism Week and beyond
April 7, 2025

Strathcona County kicks off National Tourism Week with an actionable new marketing campaign and identity.
The most effective marketing campaigns are those that transport you to the destination, allowing you to envision yourself immersed in its experiences, surroundings, and atmosphere. These campaigns make the journey feel personal and attainable, sparking a connection that inspires action. That inspires going. Go Strathco.
“This is an exciting time for the residents and business community to champion ‘Go Strathco’ with visiting friends and relatives. We are all so proud of what this region has to offer visitors,” states Lindsay Singh, Manager of Business Retention, Expansion and Tourism from the Strathcona County Economic Development and Tourism department.
As outlined in the community and Council supported Tourism Strategy and Implementation Plan, a tourism identity was one of the top priorities in establishing a clear and compelling brand in attracting visitors to Strathcona County.
As well, April 7 – 11 is celebrated as National Tourism Week in Canada. Tourism Week is led by the Tourism Industry Association of Canada and the Tourism Industry Association of Alberta, to celebrate the industry's economic contributions to our local communities and to improving the quality of life for our residents.
“Tourism Week is a unique opportunity to support the local businesses and tourism operators in Strathcona County,” says Mayor Frank. “Momentum is building in with developments such as The Pointe set to open this fall, the 2026 Alberta Summer Games, and other exciting initiatives on the horizon. Strathcona County is gaining recognition as a desirable place to visit and live. One of our local operators won a national culinary experience award in 2024, and we were listed as a top trending domestic destination for spring 2025. The energy is growing in Strathcona County, and this week is an excellent time for everyone to show their support and go try out something new.”
Rene Rondeau, Destination Development Manager with Travel Alberta affirmed “Strathcona County offers a unique blend of outdoor adventures, urban experiences, and beautiful natural surroundings, all just minutes from Edmonton. We look forward to the continued work with Strathcona County as one of the key communities of the Northeast Lakelands Tourism Development Zone.”
