Planning the future of Strathcona County

“The Strategic Plan is Strathcona County’s map that plots our journey to becoming Canada’s most livable community,” says Jennifer Cannon, Associate Commissioner of Corporate Services. “Our community’s needs grow and change every year, shaping Strathcona County’s projects, programs and services. By planning what the County and Council will focus on over four years, our goals and work can better meet our community’s needs.”

The strategic plan has four goals: economic prosperity, healthy and safe community, responsible development and municipal excellence. While the plan’s goals will remain the same, the priorities that help meet these goals will be reviewed and may change depending on the input of the community and Council.

Over the summer and fall, the County will gather public input, engage Council and update the Strategic Plan priorities to reflect what was heard. The new priorities will be shared in early 2026, with the finalized and approved 2027-2030 Strategic Plan set for release in December 2026.
