Ring in 2026 at Strathcona County’s New Year’s Festival

Community members are invited to celebrate the arrival of 2026 at Strathcona County’s New Year’s Festival on Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2025, from 6 to 8 p.m.
Enjoy free, family-friendly activities including live entertainment, winter fun zones, indoor activities, holiday displays, and festive treats – then end the night with the annual fireworks show at 8 p.m. over Broadmoor Lake Park. Attendees are encouraged to bring a donation for the Strathcona Food Bank.
“We’re excited to offer residents a welcoming and joy-filled way to ring in the new year,” says Strathcona County Mayor Rod Frank. “It’s a brilliant opportunity for our community to celebrate together and enjoy the magic of the season in Strathcona County.”
Event highlights
Festival guests can enjoy a wide range of activities across Broadmoor Lake Park, Festival Place, Peace Park and the Sherwood Park Arena and Sports Centre, including:

Family activities, games and live performances

Hot chocolate and s’mores stations

Ice sculptures and holiday displays

Fire dancer and aerial artist shows

Fireworks at 8 p.m.
Getting there
Free Park ‘N Ride service will run between Bethel Transit Terminal and Festival Place beginning at 5:30 p.m., running every 15 minutes, with the last departure from Festival Place at 8:30 p.m.
Drivers are reminded that Festival Way will be closed from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Resident-only parking along Oak Street will be in effect from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Parking is available at the Sherwood Park Arena and Sports Centre, Broadmoor Public Golf Course, and the Community Centre and Centre in the Park parkades.
Accessibility and amenities
Earplugs for sensory needs, accessible routes, First Aid teams, information booths, concessions, and indoor washrooms will be available throughout the festival.
