Strathcona County’s drop-off site for yard waste will be moving to a new location as of Tuesday, August 5, 2025.

The water restriction in Strathcona County has been lifted and residents can return to normal water use. 

Effective immediately, Strathcona County is asking residents to reduce their water consumption, and limit outdoor water use. This includes residents who get their water from truck fills. The restriction applies to all Strathcona County residents, including country residential areas. 

Strathcona County is excited to welcome residents to the grand opening event for The Pointe Agricultural Event Centre on Saturday, August 23.

The Pointe is a one-of-a-kind destination where community and agriculture come together. The large facility is beautifully designed for a variety of events and activities and features an arena, barn, meeting spaces along with several public art pieces.

The clock is officially ticking! Strathcona County is hosting the 25^th Alberta Summer Games from July 16 – 19, 2026, and preparations are well underway at the one-year mark.

Strathcona County has taken a significant step toward addressing food insecurity and promoting community well-being with the launch of Food Finder Strathcona, a new interactive map designed to connect residents with local food resources and information. 

Strathcona County RCMP and Enforcement Services is proud to announce the newest member of its team — Mickey, an accredited facility dog from the Dogs with Wings Assistance Dog Society (DWW).
