Gallery@501 members’ exhibits add creative spark to the festive season

Strathcona County is pleased to present two new exhibitions, featuring the diversity and skilled artwork of Gallery members. The exhibits open at Gallery@501 on December 9 and show until January 21, 2023.

“Sea Change: a profound transformation” features artwork connected to the theme of a profound or notable change. Inspired by Shakespeare’s The Tempest, the art reflects various interpretations of transformation in the artists’ personal lives, materials, art styles and world events.

“Flourish” showcases artwork Gallery members have created within the last two years, encompassing many themes, styles and media.  From fibre art to glass, painting and sculpture, each exhibit provides a glimpse into the creative minds of 43 artists from the 501 community.

These two exhibitions are not to be missed. Discover the incredible talent of these local artists, many of whom will have their artworks available for purchase at the end of the exhibitions.

The public is invited to join the exhibiting artists at a special opening reception on Friday, December 9, 2022 at 6:30 p.m. at Gallery@501. This event and admission to the gallery is free.

Adult artists working at any stage in their artistic career are invited to become Gallery@501 members and experience the benefits, which include exhibition opportunities.
