Reminder: register or renew your dog’s annual licence

Dog owners are reminded to register or renew their annual dog licence by March 31, 2022. All dogs residing in Strathcona County are required to have a valid dog licence, renewable each year.

Community is asked for input on new regional park master plan

Strathcona County is developing a park master plan for a new 290-acre regional park along the North Saskatchewan River. The park master plan will give the County direction for the next 15 years on the type of outdoor development and activities desired for the park.

Strathcona County mask bylaw amended to align with Province

At a special council meeting on February 10, Strathcona County Council voted to amend the municipal face coverings bylaw to align with the provincial mandatory mask requirements.

2022 Social Framework Community Grants announced

Under the Social Framework Community Grants program, Council approved nearly $1.1 million for 2022 to support not-for-profit organizations in meeting social service needs in Strathcona County.

Council approves 48-hour window for sidewalk clearing

An updated Sidewalk Clearing Bylaw will mean safer conditions for pedestrians in Strathcona County neighbourhoods. On January 18, 2022, Council voted to amend the Sidewalk Clearing Bylaw from eight days to 48 hours for clearing sidewalks around private properties, effective immediately.

Central ‘sports hub’ location chosen for indoor fieldhouse

A central, accessible site has been selected for the proposed multi-use indoor fieldhouse. The site is located east of Broadmoor Boulevard on Buckingham Drive, and is central to Millennium Place and Centennial Park, Bethel Transit Terminal, Emerald Hills Leisure Centre and Sally Stewart Regional Park.
