A fire ban has been declared for all of Strathcona County, effective at 12 noon on May 1. The ban applies to all rural areas, hamlets and Sherwood Park.

Mayor Rod Frank has officially declared May 1 to 7 as Mental Health Week in Strathcona County. This year the County will highlight the importance of mental health education and how it contributes to a more connected and supported community.

Businesses in the region are invited to attend an Industrial Supply Chain Forum on Wednesday, May 24, 2023, at the Agora, Strathcona County Community Centre in Sherwood Park. The forum will connect attendees with many of the region’s major industrial companies.

Strathcona County mourns the loss of Constable Harvinder Singh Dhami, who died in the line of duty on April 10, 2023. 

During the week of May 8 to 12, Strathcona County will be offering curbside textile collection alongside the standard waste, organics and recycling.  

Strathcona County residents are invited to show their community pride and “pitch-in” with litter removal from April 24 to May 7, 2023. This annual campaign helps remove litter left behind after the spring thaw. 

Strathcona County is deeply saddened to learn of the death of our own RCMP member, Constable Harvey Dhami.

Strathcona County is proud to celebrate National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week, April 9 to 15. This week honours the unsung heroes who answer thousands of emergency calls, provide initial life-saving assistance to 9-1-1 callers and dispatch emergency professionals and equipment.

Strathcona County greatly values inclusiveness and accessibility in recreation, and it’s doggone time this was extended to furrier County dwellers through a new Active Paws membership.
