Positive tickets—caught making the right choice

Strathcona County RCMP have ramped up a new ticketing campaign in the community. Rather than punishing local residents for breaking the law, these tickets will reward youth for positive and safe behaviour.

Strathcona County RCMP and Strathcona County Recreation, Parks and Culture have teamed up to create a positive ticket campaign for youth who follow the law or do good deeds in the community. Examples of positive behaviours include:

  • wearing a bike helmet
  • crossing at a crosswalk
  • picking up litter
  • helping a resident in need

The positive ticket will entitle the recipient to a single drop-in recreation opportunity at any of the following locations:

This as a fun opportunity to reward those who make safe, positive choices.

The positive ticket campaign will continue during the summer months with members of the Strathcona County RCMP Bike Patrol Unit along with Patrol Units keeping an eye out for positive behaviour.
