The General Appeals and Review Committee hears and decides appeals filed with it pursuant to Strathcona County Bylaws. Â The General Appeals and Review Committee is comprised of citizen members. Â More information about the General Appeals and Review Committee can be found here.
Filing an appeal
To file a notice of appeal with the General Appeals and Review Committee your completed Notice of Appeal Form - General Appeals and Review Committee (697.0Â KB) and the filing fee must both be received by the General Appeals and Review Committee no later than the final date for filing a notice of appeal as specified in the applicable Strathcona County Bylaw. Â The Notice of Appeal form includes instructions for filing the Notice of Appeal and paying the filing fee.
For appeals related to Strathcona County Bylaw 30-2016 (Vehicle for Hire Bylaw), please refer to sections 44, 45, and 46 within that bylaw. For appeals related to Strathcona County Bylaw 37-2017 (Responsible Dog Ownership Bylaw), please refer to sections 83, 84, and 85 of that bylaw.
After an appeal is filed  Â
Once an appeal is filed with the General Appeals and Review Committee it will be scheduled for a hearing within 30 days. Â At least 5 days' notice of the hearing will be given to those persons specified in Strathcona County Bylaw .
Appeal Decisions
In Accordance with Strathcona County Bylaw , the General Appeals and Review Committee will give its decision in writing within 7 days after concluding the hearing.
