The CPKC Holiday Train will be bringing holiday cheer to Josephburg this December with musical performances by Sam Roberts Band and Owen Riegling in support of the Strathcona Food Bank.

Date: Sunday, December 13, 2026

• 4 to 5:30 p.m.

  • Holiday activities at the Moyer Recreation Centre, including free hot chocolate courtesy of the Josephburg Agricultural Society, snow painting and roving performers.

• 5:15 to 5:45 p.m.

  • CPKC Holiday Train performances by Sam Roberts Band and Owen Riegling. The performance will take place behind Moyer Recreation Complex on the train tracks starting at 5:15 p.m.

Important notices

• Attendees MUST have a valid parking pass or a valid Park 'N Ride shuttle bus wristband in order to attend. No drive-ups permitted.

• Passes and wristbands can be picked up at the following locations, starting Monday, November 30:

  • Dow Centennial Centre – Fort Saskatchewan Park 'N Ride wristbands only.

  • Ardrossan Recreation Complex and Millennium Place – Strathcona County Park 'N Ride wristbands only, and parking passes.

  • Please note:

    • Parking passes – maximum one (1) per pick-up

    • Park 'N Ride wristbands – maximum four (4) per pick-up

• Road closures in Josephburg will be in place from 3 to 7 p.m. on December 13. Residents will receive details the week of November 30.

  • Road closure map coming soon.

• There will be no on-site food options available, please plan accordingly. 

• While attendees may enter the Moyer Recreation Centre to warm up, the performances are outside. Please dress for the weather.

How to attend

To ensure a safe event for attendees and Josephburg residents, access to the event will only be granted to guests who have a valid parking pass or have taken the FREE Park 'N Ride shuttle (wristband required). Advance wristband and parking pass pick-up is required to access the event.   

Option 1: Park 'N Ride

There will be two Park 'N Ride locations:

• Bethel Transit Terminal (650 Bethel Drive, Sherwood Park)

• Taurus Field, Fort Saskatchewan (8200 Southfort Dr., Fort Saskatchewan)

Limited accessible seats are available from all locations.

FREE Park 'N Ride wristbands and shuttle schedules can be picked up starting Monday, November 30, at the following locations:

• Ardrossan Recreation Complex and Millennium Place – Strathcona County Park 'N Ride wristbands only.

• Dow Centennial Centre – Fort Saskatchewan Park 'N Ride wristbands only.

Attendees will not be granted access to the Park 'N Ride shuttles without a valid wristband. Wristband pick-ups are limited to a maximum of four (4) per person. Each wristband is valid only for the shuttle location indicated on it. Attendees must board and exit the shuttle bus at their designated location.

Shuttle bus access will begin at 3 p.m. at all locations. The first buses will leave at 3:15 p.m. and the last buses will leave at 4:15 p.m. All attendees must be parked and on a shuttle by 4 p.m. To ensure all attendees arrive on time for the performance, late arrivals will not be permitted to board. 

Bus safety requirements:

• Strollers must have lockable wheels

• Wagons are not permitted

• Limited accessible seats are available at all Park 'N Ride shuttle locations

Option 2: On-site parking 

Limited parking spaces are available. To ensure guest and resident safety, FREE parking passes can be picked up from Ardrossan Recreation Complex and Millennium Place starting Monday, November 30. Passes are limited, with a maximum of one per person.

Parking is permitted in the designated parking area only, located on the north side of Township Road 550 east of Highway 830. Attendees must present their parking pass to County staff at all road closures and parking lot access points.

The designated parking lot will open to attendees at 3:30 p.m. Parking pass holders are recommended to arrive no later than 4:30 p.m. as high traffic volumes may result in a late arrival to the performance site.  

Limited accessible parking will be available at the Moyer Recreation Complex for attendees with valid accessible placards and a valid event parking pass. 

Carpooling is encouraged where possible to assist with parking lot capacities.  

Parking restrictions

No drive-ups permitted. Attendees will not be granted access to park on-site or to view the event without a valid parking pass. Duplicated or counterfeit passes will not be accepted.

Residents of Josephburg town proper will be contacted directly the week of November 30 with further instructions about parking and road closures.

How to donate

Non-perishable food donations will be accepted on-site at the Moyer Recreation Centre. Monetary donations can be made at strathconafoodbank.ca.
