Is your house number visible?

Is your house number clearly posted?

When called, emergency responders need to be able to find your house without delay. Minutes count in an emergency. Strathcona County's Addressing Bylaw 33-91 requires that addresses be posted clearly in front of each residence.

Home owners must ensure:

  • sign letters and numbers are at least 76 mm high (3")
  • signs are placed next to the driveway at the property line, OR
  • on the mail box or paper delivery box
  • tree branches are pruned back from the number

It is not necessary to post your name, only your address. Use contrasting colours on the sign for higher readability.
