Community Heritage Legacy

The Community Heritage Legacy Framework, adopted by Council in 2009, developed out of a need to increase public awareness and understanding of Strathcona County’s history and heritage.
Through community involvement, historical research and the showcasing of local history, the County aims to build a greater appreciation among its citizens of the County’s past.
With Community Heritage Legacy, Strathcona County is working alongside the Strathcona County Museum & Archives to preserve, safeguard and promote the County’s history.
The Community Heritage Legacy Initiative looks to engage the community in capturing and conveying its history and heritage.

Community Heritage Legacy Framework - adopted by Council on December 8, 2009

Building on a foundation of work done and being done at the County, the Strathcona County Museum & Archives, and elsewhere, the work of Community Heritage Legacy is to support and initiate efforts relating to history and heritage.

The idea is to give greater profile to history and heritage in our community -- to encourage, showcase and connect individual efforts.
