Job Description
Strathcona County Bus Cleaners serve an important role by ensuring that Strathcona County Transit buses are clean, safe, and presentable for customers that utilize this service.   
This posting is for one permanent part-time and 2 casual positions
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine daily cleaning of buses including floors, windows, stairs, and disposing of trash 
- Dust and wipe all ledges, including cleaning the Operator’s area and dash 
- Cleaning may include bio-hazards and disposal of sharps objects 
- Detailed bus cleaning will include routine protocol items, such vacuuming of upholstered seats, washing ceilings, tracks, and frames of windows and doors 
- Ensure cleaning chemicals are safe and used in the appropriate manner 
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to perform various types of manual labour, including lifting, standing, and bending 
- Willing to work in a respectful workplace environment 
- Ability to work independently and take initiative 
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and their proper usage  
- Ability to take initiative and identify potential vehicle and equipment issues 
- Ability to develop an understanding of OHS and WHMIS requirements 
Qualifications
- Grade 12 or equivalent with related experience  
- Previous bus cleaning experience would be an asset 
- Able to work a variety of shifts that will include evenings or weekends
Conditions of Employment
- Ability to perform physical labour as part of the job duties and stand/walk for extended periods of time
