Strathcona County honours seniors

June 5 to 11 is Seniors’ Week in Strathcona County. The County will celebrate the community’s seniors and older adults as part of the province’s annual Seniors’ Week. Every year, the County joins municipalities and organizations from across the province to honour seniors.

Strathcona County’s FireFit team to host Regional Championship

On June 3, the fittest firefighters around the province and territories will be competing in the FireFit Alberta/Yukon Regional Championship at Kinsmen Leisure Centre. Competitors will be put through a timed obstacle course made up of various skills and abilities required in firefighting.

Strathcona County’s largest annual festival is back! This year’s Canada Day celebration at Broadmoor Lake Park (Oak Street, Sherwood Park) features indoor and outdoor activities for all ages, as well as live entertainment throughout the day.

A school based social worker who goes above and beyond and fosters community connection. A youth who demonstrates high levels of leadership not only at his school, but within and beyond Strathcona County. These are just a few of the individuals, businesses, and organizations among the 2023 Strathcona County Awards of Excellence recipients.

The 2022 Public Satisfaction Survey results demonstrate an overwhelmingly positive response from residents; it's clear that Strathcona County is a safe, connected and great place to live.

Evacuation order lifted in Strathcona County

As of 1 p.m. today, the County has lifted the evacuation order for everyone in the area between south of Township Road 540 and north of Township Road 534; and east of Range Road 221 and west of Range Road 215.
