Permitted uses: A Development Officer will review and approve a development permit application that meets the regulations of the Land Use Bylaw. After a decision is made by a Development Officer, the applicant with receive written notice of the decision. Adjacent property owners will only be notified if the approval for a permitted use includes a variance to the regulations.
Discretionary uses: A Development Officer will review and either approve or refuse a development permit application based on consideration of numerous criteria including compatibility with the area and existing development. Where a discretionary use home business permit has been issued by a Development Officer, the applicant and adjacent property owners will receive written notice of the decision. Â A Discretionary Use decision is subject to a 21-day appeal period during which time affected parties may pursue an appeal of the decision of the Development Officer.
