National Day for Truth and Reconciliation in Strathcona County

On September 30, Strathcona County is inviting the community to wear orange and recognize National Day for Truth and Reconciliation (NDTR) with Indigenous Elders, Knowledge Keepers and presenters. The program will be held at Festival Place from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. and smudging will begin at 1:30 p.m., prior to the formal program. The legacy of Justice Murray Sinclair, who passed away in November 2024, will be honoured throughout the program, including by keynote speaker, singer-songwriter Phyllis Sinclair.

Strathcona County is pleased to present Korean Stories: Rooted in Hanji, a new exhibition by Edmonton artists Eunju Park and ILang Song. The exhibit opens at Gallery@501 on September 7, 2025, and shows until October 22, 2025.

The water restriction in Strathcona County has been lifted and residents can return to normal water use.

Water restriction in place for Strathcona County

Effective immediately, Strathcona County is asking residents to reduce their water consumption, and limit outdoor water use. This includes residents who get their water from truck fills. The restriction applies to all Strathcona County residents, including country residential areas.

Saddle up for The Pointe Agricultural Event Centre grand opening

Strathcona County is excited to welcome residents to the grand opening event for The Pointe Agricultural Event Centre on Saturday, August 23.

The Pointe is a one-of-a-kind destination where community and agriculture come together. The large facility is beautifully designed for a variety of events and activities and features an arena, barn, meeting spaces along with several public art pieces.
