Strathcona County values community-driven initiatives and events that promote connectedness and wellbeing for residents. Council Community Funding provides annual funds for Elected Officials to support projects that align with these values and benefit the community.

Community Funding: Benefit and Sponsorship Policy

The Community Funding: Benefit and Sponsorship Policy (122.5 KB) establishes criteria for how funds are allocated and distributed. It sets out:

How to apply

3. Complete the appropriate sections
4. Submit your application and required attachments as set out on the form

Application deadline and Funding Schedule

Benefit Funding requests will be considered on a quarterly basis, and successful applicants receive funding within 3 weeks of Council approval. 

To receive funding in April 2026:

• Apply starting - December 15, 2025
• Apply no later than - March 2, 2026
• Applications considered by Council - March 31, 2026

To receive funding in July 2026:

• Apply starting - March 3, 2026
• Apply no later than - June 11, 2026
• Applications considered by Council - June 23, 2026

To receive funding in September 2026:

• Apply starting - June 2, 2026
• Apply no later than - August 17, 2026
• Applications considered by Council - September 15, 2026

To receive funding in December 2026:

• Apply starting - August 18, 2026
• Apply no later than - November 9, 2026
• Applications considered by Council - December 8, 2026

Sponsorship Funding requests will be considered as they are received, and successful applicants receive funding within 3 weeks of Council approval.
