Disposable wrapping paper really adds up over the holiday season. Even though most of it is recyclable, why not try to reuse other items for gift wrap and embellishments? Make your gift giving even more green with these pretty parcel ideas.

  1. Find that t-shirt you don’t want to wear anymore but you can’t bear to get rid of because it has so many memories!
  2. Cut around the collar. Cut around the seam of the sleeves. This makes your handles.
  3. Cut a 1” thick strip from around the sleeve you just cut off. Now cut it so that it is one long piece vs a circle.
  4. Cut a very small slit in the bottom of the t shirt, be sure not to cut through the stitches on the bottom.
  5. Take the strip of sleeve you cut, pull it to make it curl. Put a safety pin through the end. Using the closed safety pin pull the strand of fabric  through the bottom seam of the t shirt until you get through the other side.

  6. Pull the two strands tight to bunch the bottom together. This may leave a small hole but that’s ok. If you want a smaller hole, create 2 slits and 2 strands of fabric and make 2 smaller holes.
  7. Done! Your favourite concert t-shirt is now ready to rock and roll at the grocery store!
