Your Strathcona County utility bill includes information about your usage and charges for your utilities. All utility accounts have a 10-digit utility account number.

Strathcona County has an online system for tax and utility billing called MyAccounts. It is an online user portal that makes it easy and convenient to access your property tax and utility accounts all in one place. Your paper bill includes an account number and access code to register in MyAccounts.
Create an account in My Accounts if you want to view your bill, sign up for ebilling or pay your bill by credit card online.
If you would like to view your utility account or tax account online you will need to sign up for a MyAccounts profile. Then you can connect your MyAccounts to your utility and/or tax account. To register in MyAccounts, customers will need their new account number and access code which will be provided on utility bill or tax notice.
1. Register an account profile in MyAccounts. You will need your email address and you will be asked to create a password.
2. You will receive an email with a 6 digit validation code, enter that code to validate your new profile.
3. Login to MyAccounts using your email address and password from Step 1.
4. To add a utility account to your MyAccounts profile you'll need your utility account number and the six digit access code from your utility bill.

You must set up your account at least five business days before the legal possession date. If your home is brand-new, you will also need a water meter and remote installed. We will schedule an appointment for this when you set up your account.
Utility accounts are usually set up in the owner’s name. If you want to set up the account in the renter’s (occupant’s) name, you must complete both of the following forms:

When you move within Strathcona County you will get a new account number. Please make sure to update your bank (including online banking) with the new account number.
Please note: Failure to receive, or loss of a bill, cannot be accepted as an excuse for either non-payment or for exemption from late payment charges.
Choose "Strathcona County Utilities" as the payee, then enter the account number on your utility bill. Your account number is the 10-digit number on the top of your first new utility bill.

Get your bill by email, instead of postal mail. Your payment due date will stay the same (20 days from the invoice date on the bill).
To receive notification of your bill via email, you will need to sign up for email notifications through the new MyAccounts portal. If you don’t register for email notifications through MyAccounts you will continue to receive a monthly paper bill.

With an equalized payment plan (or budget billing plan) your utility costs are averaged over 12 months, so you pay an equal amount each month. This means that you always know how much you can expect to pay.
Every September, you either pay an outstanding balance or get a credit on your account, depending on your usage over the year. Your monthly amount is recalculated every October. See current utility rates.

Under the new MyAccounts system, all utility customers on equalized billing must be setup for pre-authorized debit payments from their bank account. In the new system payments will be called instalments, and actual billed amounts will be shows with the budgeted amount.
Customers on equalized billing who do not currently have pre-authorized debit payments setup must contact Utility Billing to register for preauthorized debit by October 15, 2023.

Failure to setup pre-authorized debit payments will result in customer having to pay the actual amount due each month.
Customers on equalized billing who are already setup for pre-authorized debit payments do not need to do anything.
Truck fill customers will also receive a new account number for the new MyAccounts system. Truck fill customers will have two access codes, one for MyAccounts, and one for the Waterplus system.Â
