Strathcona County is making improvements to the Bethel Transit Terminal to ensure a safe and sustainable roadway.
The majority of this work was completed in 2024, with a final phase of improvements planned for 2025. Construction starts April 14 and is expected to be completed in July. See project map. (1.1 MB)
Bus schedules will remain the same. However, in an effort to maintain schedules, Transit will not be able to hold buses. We anticipate minor delays and encourage riders to take an earlier bus if their schedules are tight.
What to expect:
Note: The terminal parking lot is not affected by construction.
This project involves replacing the perimeter asphalt roadway within the terminal. Spot concrete repairs are also planned, but pending budget.
Construction will be completed in phases to ensure the terminal can remain open and functional through construction.
Most of the project construction cost is covered by a provincial grant, with only 10 per cent of the cost paid for by the County.
